15119 This graceful antique 17-18th century Chinese Ming style clothing stand is made of the precious Golden-Thread-Nan-Mu wood. Golden-Thread-Nan-Mu was mostly used in building imperial palaces and temples only. The wood carries tiny golden specks and sometimes with dramatic grain within the delicate wood. This wood is said to have a light fragrance in a climate with moisture and does not rot. Therefore, it was also used for coffins for the imperial family and the most wealthy. Few old furniture pieces made of this wood can be found. Minor repair and replacement of wood.
